Blog Post #6 - Silent Questions
1. I remeber back in the day when I was probably around 9 years old or so Aaron Chase, Dawson, and always wanted a cool fort out in the woods. Tyler and Cameron always had some of the coolest forts. So we started on a fort and worked on it eveyday for weeks it seemed like. Back then it seemed so cool even though it was basically in Dawson’s back yard and was just a tiny fort. One day we were mad at Tyler and Cameron for who knows why so we decided to tear down there fort. I will never forget this. We all tore it down and then Aaron and Dawson persisted to poop in their fort. It was one of the funniest things ever. Now I look back at that and think only then would we do something so stupid.
3. I use to live up 69th street up thurston hills. It was a great place to spend my childhood. My friends and I would always ride are bikes around, build forts, and explore the hills. Sometimes we would even go all the way down to the park. It was about 5 streets below my house, which back then seemed so far. My house was white and I lived in between a fat man and his old wife and a crazy man who spent time giving candy to my friends. He bought my friend a scooter once and invited us all over to roast marshmallows. I always found him a very creepy man and did not hang around his house. Two people in my neighborhood had kids 2 years older then me. They always picked on me. One was named Tyler. I became good friends with him, but on summer he died in an accident. He got hit by a car up on the hill. That basically sums up my old neighborhood.
5. I think that justice is when someone does something wrong and they get persecuted for what ever they did wrong. That is when justice is done and the person gets consicuences for what they did wrong. One of the most unjust things I have ever seen is when the men who murdered Emmit Till didn’t go to jail and had no consicuences for what they did wrong.

One day in the summer of 2007 my family, my friend Brad, and I were enjoying a day at the Umqua river. We were talking and I broght up a point that I later found out jinxed me. I said that I had never broken a bone or had to get stitches.
The next day I went out to Brad’s house in Junction City. It was kind of late when we got there and we wanted to go into town to get some food. His dad was quick to say to be back before dark because we were riding bikes.
We went to Arby’s and saw some people there and got carried away. By the time we left it was almost dark. We were on our way back when we saw a fire and a firetruck go by. Brad said we should go and check it out. We were on racing bikes, like the ones Lance Armstrong uses, so you had to lean down to grab the brakes. Brad, all the sudden, turned infront of me and I t-boned him. From that pont untill the umpact with the ground it felt like slow motion. Brad did a front flip into a ditch I flew over my handle bars. When I got up I was cursing at Brad. My kneee was cut up and had a rock in it and Brad’s hands were cut up.
We called Brad’s dad and he came and got us. At Brad’s house we cleaned my knee and took the rock out. We called my dad and I told him I didn’t need stitches because I was scared. Brad’s parents made me go to the hospital.
Once I got at the hospital it was nine in the evening. By the time I was called back it was around two in the morning. Finally after around seven hours I finally arived home with eleven stitches, a new man.
Uncategorized | Comment (1)Blog Post #4 - Text Messaging… Does it help or hinder student writing?
I think that text messaging is a good way to communicate with people. You can multi task like text someone while doing homework or while doing anything without having to stop what you are doing and calling them. On average I send around 300 a day. I usually text about 5 or more people a day. I don’t really think texting has any impact on my writing ablilitys. It sometimes helps me spell because my phone won’t spell words the wrong way when its on T-9. Text messaging can help me in school to text someone and ask when homework is due or when a class starts or just any kind of question about school. Text messaging has an impact on the way you communicate. Like if you meet someone you just text them instead of calling them or talking in person to get to know them.
Uncategorized | Comment (1)Blog Post #3 - Independent Reading - New Understandings
In my book I have learned that if you believe something that is tru thats all that matters. It doesn’t matter what people say is all about what you believe. On p. 69 this quote shows what I have learned,”….nobody can tell you what to believe in. As long as you feel deep down in your heart that something’s true, then it is. For you.”
Uncategorized | Comment (1)Blog Post #2 - Blogs? What’s a Blog?
A blog is something you write to express your feelings online. So people can read about it and post comments about what you wrote. I have heard of blogs in Mrs. Hokes class first trimester. I also have heard of blogs on myspace.com. I am very good with computers. I can type pretty well and I know how to work a computer pretty well also. I use my computer to look stuff up on the internet. I also use it to go on myspace. I don’t really enjoy writing. I only write when I’m in school because I have to. I don’t really like any kind of writing. People are concerned about kids using the internet because there are online predators like on dateline NBC. The internet is dangerous if you use it the wrong way and dont be carefull. My peers use the internet for myspace and to search things for school work. I’m okay with using blogs in this class because I can type better now.
Uncategorized | Comment (0)Blog Post #1 - Idependent Reading Book Selection
I chose to read the book Between Mom and Jo by Julie Anne Peters. I choose to read this book because I was interested about what it is like to grow up with two moms. It caught my attention because I never have really heard what it was like to grow up with two moms. I chose this book myself when I saw it in the library. So far in the book its about the boy growing up strugling to understand everything. He got made for of at school for having two moms. Which makes him wonder why he has no dad. It puts his moms in a bad possition and don’t know how to explain all of it to him.
